The Nutrition course began in the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) in the first half of 2011, with the annual inflow of 40 students. The first graduating class was in 2014. The course I linked to the Centre of Biological Sciences and Health Sciences, located in Campo Grande (MS) campus. The faculty of the course is currently composed of 38 professors, 76.92% of them being doctors and 23.08% masters, with titre achieved by Postgraduate stricto sensu Program. Among these 12 professors are nutritionists who work in different major areas of nutrition (Clinical Nutrition, Collective Food, Collective Health and Food Sciences), being 75% doctors and 25% masters. The course holds Teaching, Research and Extension Projects coordinated by professors, which gives academics the opportunity to improve the knowledge obtained in the classroom and offers both important contributions to the community.
